Try, Attempt, Effort
Both “attempt” and “try” mean to make an effort to accomplish a goal.
An act of trying to do something, especially something difficult
All attempts to control inflation have failed.
The protesters made no attempt to resist arrest.
An attempt on somebody’s life an act of trying to kill someone, especially someone famous or important
They have made an attempt on her life.
Physical/mental energy [uncountable] the physical or mental energy that is needed to do something
He made the effort to say something pleasant.
It takes a lot of time and effort to get an exhibition ready.
